"Y'all have no idea how hard I worked,” the 30-year-old told her fans. "I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on that treadmill, eating lettuce!"

Beyonce's hard work was evident as she took to the stage in a number of custom made Ralph & Russo outfits, including an array of hot-pants and matching tops that revealed her newly toned figure.

The Memorial Day weekend concert series was held at the Revel Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and was attended by her husband, Jay-Z, who watched on from the wings on Saturday night. Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) took to Twitter in support of his wife, tweeting: "'I'm gonna say this and then I'm gonna end mine.' BEYONCE is the best performer in the world. Period."

Beyonce's first performance since 2011 was also attended by first lady Michelle Obama and her two daughters, Sasha, 10, and Malia, 13, who were spotted busting a move to some of the songs.

The singer performed a number of her biggest hits, including 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)', 'If I Were A Boy' and 'Crazy in Love'. She also paid tribute to Whitney Houston by performing 'I Will Always Love You' and Donna Summers whose song 'Love To Love You Baby' was sampled on her track 'Naughty Girl', both of whom passed away this year.
